2021 December 14

You will surely agree with us that this year has been quite hectic and exciting. Towards the end of the year, we looked back, and as we remembered one-by-one the bigger and smaller successes, we realized that it is worth summarizing the 12 months that are behind us. We will show you some of Flatco’s 2021 highlights that we are proud of!

At Flatco, we only really feel like ourselves when we are working on lots of new projects and ideas and dealing with challenges, so we can gladly say we didn’t have a boring 2021. Of course, for this we need a growing community – and fortunately, more and more young people and families in Budapest are choosing to live in affordable premium apartments. So, we can thank them as well for our results!

January: During the early bird period announced at the end of last year, 40 out of our 80 newly built apartments at the Madarász 38 complex found their tenants in just a few weeks. Located next to the Váci street office corridor, in a quiet, green area, every apartment is automatized and fully furnished. In the recently renovated part of the XIII. District, the Flatcommunity started expanding at a rapid pace.

February: The month of lovers found us busy.

While we were constantly preparing the remaining flats at Madarász 38, we were already focusing on the next project. In the Metrodom Panorama complex near the Danube, which was awarded the Architecture Nívó Award, we announced 20 beautiful, high-quality, sunny Flatco apartments.

March: All the flats on Madarász Street were rented out! We have also introduced one of our favorite initiatives, Friends of Flatco, under which each tenant who refers one or more new tenants to us will receive a discount of 20, 25, or even 30,000 forints on their next month’s rent. Have you tried it yet? Totally worth it!

April: Together with Metrodom group, our main partner, we have launched a special program that helps our tenants buy a home of their own. If our tenant chooses to buy a property from Metrodom, 25% of the rent they have already paid will be reduced from the purchase price of the apartment. This discount can reach up to 3% of the value of the apartment. To our great delight, this initiative quickly became popular.

May: Relaxing before summer break was not in our plans, we had a lot to do! We conducted a comprehensive market survey involving 1,100 people and found out that 30 percent of the adult population would like to move to a new location within Hungary. You can find all the details and interesting facts at this link.

Oh and we almost forgot, that’s when we have also officially launched the campaign for Flatco’s biggest project so far, the Bárd story begins. Hooray!

June: The truth is, we popped open some champagne right about here. The phones never stopped ringing, and around 200 of the 265 apartments in the Bárd Apartment House, the largest privately funded apartment complex built since the Second World War in Budapest, have found happy tenants during this month, 2 months before the completion and handover date. We were quite shocked by the huge success if we’re being honest.

July: It was not a passing craze, during this month we rented out the last available apartment at Bárd complex. This served as living proof that there is a huge demand in Budapest for affordable premium rentals, with a higher standard than the average, boring common rentals. So, affordable premium exists, a lot of people are looking for it and now they know where to look!

August: As we were welcoming in all our new tenants and basically doubling our Flatcommunity, we were also able to give them the “Bárd card“.

By presenting the small shiny card in several restaurants, shops, services or recreation facilities, residents of Bárd are getting discounts and lower prices. On the one hand, this is a significant help for our tenants, and on the other hand, we can also support local small businesses – this is the typical win-win we always strive to achieve!

September: We love it when people talk about us – so if you’re reading Lakáskultúra magazine, you have certainly met us there. By the way, when we weren’t busy with giving interviews, we were with organizing housewarming inaugurations! We had a fantastic, memorable welcome party for our Bárd Street residents with lots of programs, food and drinks, and the unforgettable Flatco outdoor cinema!

October: It wouldn’t be right not to throw a little Halloween spirit into the lives of our tenants, so we decorated the public areas of the Bárd Apartment Complex. Cobwebs and pumpkins everywhere! But as a more serious topic, we have launched the long-awaited Flatco flat monitor, where those who want to rent a nicely furnished, newly built apartment can sign up and get notifications about new availabilities.

November: This month, Flatco has been surrounded by stars, literally! The newcomer stars of the most popular musical talent show in Hungary have moved into the Bárd Apartment Complex! Our interior designer set up our penthouse apartments based on 5 different colorful music styles, so the contestants could feel connected to the music even in their free time. As if that’s not enough, Bárd Apartment House has won 2 significant awards in November, ranking first in both the “Architecture multiple residence” and the “Best residential development” categories of the International property awards, as well as in the “residential buildings” category of the FIABCI award.

December: To finish the year in style, the Bard Card with all the discounts has been extended to all the Flatco tenants, so from now on all our tenants can enjoy the benefits of being a Flatcommunity member. In addition, as is already a tradition, we started collecting donations this year as well. We collected a large amount of food for the small residents of the Budaörs Animal Shelter. Finally, we were able to unleash our creativity and decoration addiction – and dressed up the common areas of Bárd for Chrisrtmas.

Quite a year, wouldn’t you say?

We are smiling to ourselves because we already know (at least some of) what we have planned for 2022… Stay with us and find out!
