As Christmas approaches, strangers often come together enthusiastically in the name of a good cause. We are confident that the community of Flatco tenants has a big potential and abbility to help! That is why we have decided to initiate a shared charity collection, and we are asking for your help.
Help us make the holidays beautiful for everyone!
The donations collected will be entrusted to the care of the “Tündérpakk” Public Foundation, which will deliver them to families in need of help. For many years, from Sopron to Debrecen they have been tirelessly taking in, collecting, sharing, and distributing smaller and larger packages. From furniture to household appliances, grocery packages, and even baby clothes, they know the right place for every donation, a place where they can put a smile on people’s faces. Is there any better true gift for Christmas?
You wouldn’t believe how many families you are offering tremendous help and heavenly joy with such simple things like a bag of groceries, or a big shopping at the corner drugstore. Through our fundraising campaign, we are now focusing on collecting these essential items, so if you join us you can also prepare your donations easily, quickly, as part of your daily routine.
You can deliver your package to us in the City Home residential park, on the Máriássy street, in the empty shop next to the Royal Body salon, until December 12.
We welcome the following items:
- durable foods (boxed milk, canned foods, biscuits, soup spice cubes)
- baby care products (diapers, nappy creams, bathing products)
- hygiene products (soaps, toothbrushes, pads, shower gels)
- cleaning products (detergents, softeners, disinfectants
We trust that you will participate in the collection as well. If you do, we ask for a simple favor: tell your neighbors as well! Knock on their door, write an SMS, or just share the news on flatcommunity channels and show a good example. It will surely fill you with joy when you realize how many people joined this cause just because of you.
Why the “Tündérpakk” foundation?
There are so many areas where help is needed that it is very difficult to choose what kind of organization to support. We have chosen the “Tündérpakk” non profit Foundation because we have been amazed by the determination and the initiative with which the team, Timi and Anna, are organizing the various donation projects, one after the other. They travel thousands of miles a month across the country, usually taking the donations to tiny, secluded villages.
They, themselves volunteer to make life easier for others and maintain a close relationship with those who turn to them for help. There’s no middle-man, there isn’t a many-staff organization, just two “fairies” ready to help, with lots of little success, and a long to-do list in front of them – so once we met them, we knew that we had to get involved and help!
You’re not alone
Due to the second-wave lockdown, the early darkening evenings, and the cold, you can easily feel like you are isolated from the world (especially if your family is spending Advent and the holidays in the countryside, far away from you). Do not worry, you belong somewhere, even if you don’t know it yet! At Flatco, we strive to offer our tenants not just affordable premium apartments, but also the chance to live a unique community-experience.
The flatcommunity was created to provide our tenants, who are living side-by-side in the same residential complex, a relaxed but vibrant and interesting online platform where they can get to know each other. After all, you have so much in common: you live in the same place, you work in Budapest, you are similar to each other in terms of age and life situation.
